To make Giloy Satv (Guduchi Satva), follow these steps:
Ingredients:
- Fresh Giloy (Guduchi) stems
Instructions:
- Preparation of Giloy Juice:
- Take fresh Giloy stems and wash them thoroughly to remove any dirt or impurities.
- Cut the Giloy stems into small pieces.
- Using a juicer or blender, extract the juice from the Giloy stems. You may need to add a small amount of water to aid in the juicing process.
2 . Processing the Giloy Juice:
- Take the freshly extracted Giloy juice and pour it into a wide-mouthed vessel or bowl.
- Cover the vessel with a lid or a clean cloth and leave it undisturbed for 6-8 hours. This allows the sediments to settle down, and the clear supernatant liquid (Giloy juice) can be carefully decanted or strained using a muslin cloth to remove any solid particles.
3 . Evaporation and Satv Formation:
- Take the strained Giloy juice in a wide, shallow vessel (preferably stainless steel or non-reactive material).
- Place this vessel on a stove over low to medium heat.
- Slowly evaporate the water content from the juice by stirring occasionally with a spoon. The goal is to evaporate the water completely until you get a thick, semi-solid paste-like consistency.
4 . Cooling and Storing:
- Once the water is evaporated and you get a thick paste, remove the vessel from the heat and let it cool down completely.
- Transfer the cooled Giloy Satv into an airtight container or glass jar for storage.
Usage:
- Giloy Satv can be consumed in small quantities (typically about 500 mg to 1 gram) with honey or water, as recommended by an Ayurvedic practitioner.
- It is known for its immunity-boosting properties and is traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine for various health benefits.
Note:
- Ensure the Giloy stems are fresh and clean to obtain the best quality juice.
- The process requires patience as the evaporation can take time depending on the quantity of juice and the heat applied.
- Store the Giloy Satv in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight for long-term use.
